Default Nwiz.exe error?

Upon rebooting I'm receiving this error. Nwiz.exe. AppVer.6.13.10.3190 The
error message says that it must close.
Could someone explain what type of error is this and what does it effect.
Thank you

The same thing happens to me.

The error message reads, "nwiz.exe has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It seemed to start happening after I updated to Service Pack 2 (XP Home)

Is there info as to what this is?

Solution?

Thanks!

nwiz.exe = NVIDIA nView Wizard

nwiz.exe
[[Associated with the newer versions of nVidia graphics cards drivers.
Allows you to immensely improve desktop layouts by setting preferences and
optimizations. However, this isn't necessary for the operation of your
system ]]

You do not need any of this NVIDIA crap running at startup.

Open the Registry Editor and delete these keys, if they exist.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
NvCplDaemon
REG_SZ
RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
NvMediaCenter
REG_SZ
RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
nwiz
REG_SZ
nwiz.exe /install

Do you have the latest NVIDIA drivers for your graphics card?

NVidia Display Drivers 61.77 is the latest.
