Default RPC error

-----Original Message-----
Hi there!
I have just reinstalled XP on a friends PC and

everything
went ok until i had an error message: System shutdown.
RPC error( could not make an RPC)...the computer will
shut down in 60 seconds.
This happens everytime i switch on now. I havn't
activated XP yet and i havn't put SP1 on either.
Any ideas??

.

There is a knowledge base fact on this error. The RPC
file has do be newer than a certain date. The other
thing you can do is to right click on my computer,
manage, services and applications, services, go to
network connections, right click, properties, recovery,
reset the instances to take no action, or restart service.
Good Luck!!!
