Default Need help networking two XP computers using a hub.

I don't have a router and I'm not sure why I need one.
I tried to install one but it was a nightmare so I returned it.
I have two DSL ips.
But since switching to highspeed I can't get my two computers networked OR get
the second one to even install a broadband connection.
No matter which wizard I choose for broadband the computer always tries to dial.

On my dialup connection both these machines were networked and had access to the
net. But I can't seem to get them networked now.
