Default Disabling the connection of XP user account to a .Net Passport

My user account has been set up to use a .Net Passport.
I now want to disable that connection, but can't see how.
I've been through the set up process again and unchecked the box "Set up my
account to use a .NET Passport", but that didn't work.
Grateful for any ideas...?
Thanks
