Default Can't reload printer software

-----Original Message-----
Getting message the print spooler not active. XP
directions say to change server properties. when I try I
get an error message can't change print spoolers not
running. How do I restart the print spooler..
.

I just had this problem yesterday. It was caused by
installing an old printer driver that was not for XP. A
Gateway tech talked me through deleting all references to
printers by going into safe made and editing files
in "regedit". Sorry, but I can't remember the exact stuff
we did.

See http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm and perhaps
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/AddNewFails.htm.

You don't need "Safe Mode" to do this.

It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
