Default Single-form multipart dot-matrix printer wanted.

We despatch goods with 4-part dockets.

We want to print on to these 4-part dockets, which are designed to be
filled out with ball-point pen.

These dockets are single, that is they are not part of a continuous
fan-fold system.

We desperately need a printer to fill out the fields on these single
4-part forms, as required, from our invoicing system. We use
Access2010.

We use many single multipart forms of different length/width
configurations.

Clearly the printer will have to be dot-matrix, and have a printable
width of 8 inches max. (200mm).

The printer, we suspect, will look like a toaster, into which the
single 4-part docket is dropped, then printed, then ejected. The
software will be adjusted to suit the 4-part form.

Does anyone make one of these? We'll pay anything!

These are popular with trucking companies:
O'Neil Vehicle Mount Printer™ Impact Portable Printer
http://www.currentdirections.com/har...cle-mount.html
http://www.currentdirections.com/har...oflash-8i.html
Fuel transports use them. See if there is a fuel supplier near you and go
look at one in action.

Thanks, I have tried and all I get is the
http://www.oki.com/au/printing/produ...20T/index.html
which is OK but the details on paper handling is foggy & absent.
Trying to find an agent with a demo model has people laughing at me,
and I wont buy until I know it will handle varying paper sizes, and is
compatible with Creator, and if emulation is possible etc.

A google search using 'dot matrix printer for single feed multipart
forms' turns up a number of hits. You may have to look thru' them
yourself to see if one fits your needs.

Likewise on my part about specifics and OkiData. I use an
OkiData dot matrix for programming output. I have had other printers
that died, but my OkiData printer just keeps on going.

I expect that you will get the necesary information if you download
the user manual for your preferred model.

Yes thanks, I have done this but they're all rather vague whether they
can handle just one sheet of multipart paper, and how close to the
edges the print can be done. I need a demo, but all want to sell me
one in a sealed box.

Sale-or-return on the basis it can handle single sheets and print a
specific width between the tractor perforations?
