"Play songs". Is there any other person in the world who prefers to
listen to podcasts? The cheapo Chinese player would be able to play
whatever. Apple (and its spokesmen) misname their software options.

I have a Chinese (not particularly portable) MP3 player, has a speaker
and is great. It does not juggle oranges or make a cup of coffee -
but, hey, it does what it is good at.

Here is description of what smart people save before it go to dark side.
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/manage-...with-sharepod/

How To Manage Your iPod with SharePod
"To install SharePod, visit the SharePod download site and download the
..zip file. Once you unzip it, you can either drag and drop SharePod onto
your iPod or run SharePod directly from your hard drive. Because it does
not require any installation to your hard drive or ´Programsˇ folder, you
can also install it onto your USB or flash drive. This is great if you use
different computers or want to get some music from a friend˙s computer
without using iTunes."

Read too for sharepod 3.9.9 but I prefer 3.9.6 as last good side before
sharepod fall into the way of the dark side.

https://sharepod.soft32.com/
"
Have you had a problem with your computer or hard drive, lost all your
music, then connected your iPod to your computer, hoping you could do a
two-way transfer? Unfortunately, when you do that iTunes won˙t let you copy
your previous music library to your computer. That˙s where Sharepod comes
in. With Sharepod, you can copy music you have stored on your iPod to your
computer with a simple drag-and-drop interface. You can arrange by track,
by album or by playlist.
Sharepod is a simple, single-executable application that doesn˙t need
installing. So whether you are at home or a friend˙s, it is easy to
download, open and have your iPod connected within seconds. As well as iPod
to PC sharing, Sharepod allows you to copy music from your PC to iPod
without the need for iTunes. This is a great if you have multiple computers
and want to use your iPod with all of them, instead of connecting your mp3
player to just one device.
Pros: Very easy to use, allows you to connect iPod to multiple computers
for sharing, free.
Cons: Outdated interface style.
Conclusion: Sharepod is a great freeware application for transferring music
from your iPod to other computers and back again. If you have multiple
computers in your home network or want to share music with friends, there
is no simpler way to do it than with Sharepod. Sharepod fixes the universal
problem iPod users have when trying to connect their device to secondary
computers."

Look it up for "consensual nonconsensual" for too great detail as
philosopher discuss this same topic for ten thousand year of time and never
ended yet and never will ended.

Is philosophy way.

I don't need an mp3 player to make me a cup of tea so the cheap
Chinese one does what I want.

then you obviously don't want much.

ipods and itunes are for users who want more advanced features than a
$3 piece of junk.

A bonus is that it will only cost around $3 to replace the battery.

the bonus is that you *have* to replace the battery, along with
everything else.

itunes is prison for masochists.

"Apple makes extracting your music from your iPod unnecessarily difficult"
http://download.cnet.com/SharePod/30...-10794489.html

"You don˘t need to wrestle with iTunes in order to get music onto your
iPhone"
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/6-ways-...ithout-itunes/

"You don't have to bother with iTunes anymore, and you can feel self
assured not having to worry about losing your music files. Sharepod freely
copies song files from and to your iPod, and automatically works from the
iPod itself"
http://itstillworks.com/use-sharepod...s-4430237.html

"One of the most popular posts I wrote in 2008 was a set of step-by-step
instructions to help you do what Apple doesn't want you to do with iTunes
for Windows. Now that iTunes 10 has been released, it's apparent that
nothing has changed in Cupertino."
http://www.zdnet.com/article/the-uno...out-bloatware/

itunes is prison for masochists for free consensual nonconsensual slavery!

Problem of itunes is not mere tolerate but extreme harsh impact play when
Apple master rules of thick prison garden walls you violate.

Itunes is consensual nonconsensual slavery for masochist.

If you enjoy to be in hogtie shibari with horse whip then itunes for you!

Is true.

no.

what i'm saying is that itunes is *much* more than just a way to copy
