What I have so far. A Construction engineer was having
issue with opening drawings from suppliers: dwg, pdf, easm,
and igs. Acrobat Reader chocked on the pdf's.

IGS Viewer: IGS
http://igsviewer.com
http://igsviewer.com/DownloadFinal.aspx

eDrawings: EASM, DWG
http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support...nloadcheck.htm

AutoDWG DWG See: DWG
http://www.autodwg.com/
http://www.autodwg.com/dwg-viewer/

PDF Studio:
https://www.qoppa.com/pdfstudio/

I was able to open everything with the above.

My AutoCAD days are now in retirement although I occasionally fire up
DWG TrueView to view drawings.

This is a freebie and is available from Autodesk at this address:

https://www.autodesk.com/viewers/all-viewers/compare

A comparison of ten viewers can also be explored there.

I saw that. It is a web based viewer and the customer's drawings are
int he megabytes. The response time would be pretty bad.

Thank you!

I tested that one. Works under Wine too. Look pretty
sweet. Thank you!

I think you misread my reply.

I referred to the program "DWG Trueview" to view drawings and that is
the program which is installed on my PC.

I copied a few 2MB and 3MB files from a backup PC on to a USB stick
with the intent of checking the load time. The load time seemed to be
less than 1 second for each file and my PC was NOT connected to the
internet at the time.

The URL I referred you to above was a collection of 9 programs (free
and trial versions) from which you could choose, depending on which
features you was looking for.

Of course, there are other programs to choose from but I have been an
AutoCAD user for many years and am not familiar with the capabilities
of non AutoDesk products.

Good luck,
