I recently had to get xp reinstalled on my pc. I now
cannot open any of my files because I lost MS Works. My
pc was returned to me with Excel and Word etc but these
can't read them. I also lost my virus protecter among
other things. I have no cd's and the store i bought from
is closed. Where do go from here??

Wait till the store opens? There just isn't a whole lot you can do when a
system was reinstalled, and you don't have the CD's.

Depends on which version of Word/Office you have. If you have Office 2000 or Office XP,
you can run setup from the CD again, opt to add/remove components, and then add the text
convert for Works, and your Works DOCUMENTS will open in Word. Then save them in the Word
file format so you won't have to convert them each time you open them. If that's too
complicated for you, or if you don't have your Office or Word CD to run the setup, you can
download the Word text converter for Works at:

http://tinyurl.com/mj73

The simple instructions for download and install are on the page

Overview
The Works 6.0 Converter converts word processor documents created in Microsoft Works 6.0
to Microsoft Word and other versions of Works.
