Default Running Bluestacks4 Android 7.1.1 emulation freeware on Windows

Below are my ad-hoc observations after installing & testing Bluestacks4
Android emulation on Windows 10.

I hope this information saves others time and trouble, as this emulator
is FANTASTIC for running games (but not so great for developing apps).
================================================== ==========================
BlueStacks4 Android Emulation (Android 7.1.1)
o It's SUPER EASY to install - but you MUST log into Google (apparently)
o It seems mostly aimed at running Android games on the desktop
o Its claim to fame is SPEED (plays games faster than on a real phone)
o (It makes it very easy to find and buy games, for example)
o In fact, it works _great_ for that (fantastic program compatibility)
o It's less like an Android phone, and more like its own platform
o It comes with Google Play so I loaded F-Droid & NewPipe (which worked!)
o By way of example, it's the _only_ emulator that ran F-Droid NewPipe!
o It's also SUPER EASY to add APKs stored on your Windows file system
o But it's not really a "phone" emulator as much as a gaming emulator
o Windows 10 integration is more fantastic than you can possibly imagine
For example, if you install a program, the icon also shows up on the
Windows desktop, as if it was a Windows program that you installed
(obviously outside the emulation window!)
When you doubleclick on that Windows desktop icon, the program runs
inside the emulation window. Now that's integration with Windows!
(None of the other emulators did that, for example.)
================================================== ==========================
Interestingly, Bluestacks4 "remembers" what you previously installed even
after you delete it from Windows & re-install it.

It doesn't have the programs installed, but it tells you that you
had them installed before and asks if you want them again.

So their uninstaller sucks.
================================================== ==========================
Bluestacks4 comes with very few apps (it's not like a phone).
o Google Play (which it updates the first time around)
o Camera
o Browser
o Settings
o Media Manager
o Instance Manager

BlueStacks4 Android Emulation

https://www.bluestacks.com/bluestacks-4.html

The installer is specific. literally, to your machine, I think, as the
download URL is huge with lots of "identification" numbers.
================================================== ==========================
I'm not sure yet how to integrate this into Android Studio 3.2.1
================================================== ==========================
Bluestacks4 works as quickly and as easily as did Andyroid emulation!

BlueStacks doesn't have the "normal" Android interface.
So it's hard to tell what version of Android BlueStacks is emulating.
o Install "Terminal Emulator" from the Play Store
o $ getprop ro.build.version.release
(reports 7.1.1)
o $ getprop ro.build.version.sdk
(reports 25)
o Go to any of these web sites which detect Android versions:
http://detectmobilebrowsers.com/ (reports Android 7.1.1)
http://demo.mobiledetect.net (reports Android 7.1.1)
o Install "My Device" from the Play Store
(Reports:
Manufacturer: Google
Brand: google
Model: Pixel XL
Board: Marlin
Hardwa marlin
Serial No: #####
Android ID: ######
Screen Resolution: 960 x 540 Pixels
Boot Loader: unknown
User: build
Host: Build2
OS Version: 7.1.1
Version Name: Nougat
API Level: 25
Build ID: NOF26V
Build Time: Mon Sep 18 ...
Fingerprint: google/marlin/marling:7.1.1...
(and on, and on, and on...)

Bluestacks4 recommends you disable Hyper-V on Windows computers:
https://support.bluestacks.com/hc/en...s/115004254383
================================================== ==========================
https://www.poweronplatforms.com/ena...-windows-10-8/

Start Run control
Programs and Features Turn Windows features on or off
Change from:
[x]Hyper-V
[x]Hyper-V Management Tools
[x]Hyper-V Platform
Change to:
[_]Hyper-V
[_]Hyper-V Management Tools
[_]Hyper-V Platform

The question is what to do with this setting? (I left it alone.)
[x]Windows Hypervisor Platform

You need to reboot after unchecking "Hyper-V".
================================================== ==========================
Once I disabled Hyper-V, then Bluestacks started right up.
I installed a browser and downloaded F-Droid & then installed NewPipe.
Woo hoo! Bluestacks4 ran the F-Droid NewPipe on Windows 10 without error!
================================================== ==========================
o This is the basic Bluestacks interface (it can be portrait or landscape):

o Bluestacks seems geared toward playing Android games on Windows:

o But I'm more interested in getting F-Droid style apps to work:

o One of the best of which is the NewPipe youtube sans ads clone:

o NewPipe worked perfectly on Bluestacks, without error:
http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=2403872bluestacks13.jpg
o Where I ran a search for Anna Xu Android tutorials in NewPipe:
http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=5907854bluestacks15.jpg
o And where all the NewPipe functionality worked fine, like play all:
http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=8293837bluestacks16.jpg
o And where variable file sizes were available to Windows:
http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=4465364bluestacks18.jpg
o And where downloading and ripping on Windows was working fine:
http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=9723898bluestacks20.jpg
o Which means Bluestacks is a working Android emulator on Windows:

As always, please improve so that everyone benefits from every action.
