Default Display Adapter

I had to reinstall recently and have a Samsung SyncMaster Monitor which is
now having problems. When I go to Control Panel, Display, Settings,
Advanced, I can see that I am in Default Monitor mode. I am unable to choose
Properties or make any changes. Under Adapter is says VGA Display
Controller....
I want to reinstall my Samsung Monitor but cannot do so because on it's
install
disk it prompts me to choose an adapter but there is nothing there to choose
from...
anyone able to help or direct me?
Thanx

The MONITOR disk/cd will only work after the ADAPTER is activated

You need to find your ADAPTER disk/cd and install that first

I have an ATI 9600 video card, and must install from that cd

You need to find the disk/cd for your brand/model adapter card

Default Display Adapter

The issue is not the monitor, you need to reinstall or update the drivers
for your graphics card.
