Read only problem
Hello,
Since the days of Windows 3.1 I have kept the old 16 bit Windows Cardfile on my computer as I migrated from system to system and operating system to operating system. Now all of a sudden when I open my cardfile that I keep phone numbers in I get warned by Cardfile that the file is read only and I won't be able to save any changes to the file without doing a Save As to a new file. I looked at the properties sheet for phonehom.crd which is the file in question, and Read Only is not check marked. Anybody got a clue as to how to once again be able to save this file and why it tells me it's Read Only when it's not? Thanks for any help you can be. Try selecting Read Only in the Properties, and OK out. Then reenter and deselect Read Only, OK your way out. Don't know if it will help, but that's what I would try first. Also try saving it with a different name, as suggested. Load the new filename till it too gives you trouble. -- Joe =o) |
