Start up disks
My windows program is "broken", and the original setup disks that came with
my Dell are mysteriously gone. Can I create the disks I need to reload my Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack from the instructions on this website and if I can, how much does it cost? |

It will cost you the purcase price of a new XP CD...............which is the
only way to fix your system if you have lost your recovery set. peterk -- Never trust a computer you can't throw out the window. - Steve Wozniak "Linda" wrote in message ... I tried to download anti-virus software, and the files won't save to my
computer, so the technician at e-Acceleration was walking me through the troubleshoot, and she told me that my "windows is broken" and I need to reolad it. Exactly what went bad in the software, I don't know. But the Dell tech remotely was looking around in it last night and said there's something wrong with it and he didn't even tell me exactly what part is bad. -- thank you "John" wrote: What do you mean "broken" "Linda" wrote: My windows program is "broken", and the original setup disks that came with my Dell are mysteriously gone. Thank you for the information. So, since I don't know exactly what is wrong
with my windows XP, running a patch or another service pack probably wouldn't help, would it? -- thank you "peterk" wrote: It will cost you the purcase price of a new XP CD...............which is the only way to fix your system if you have lost your recovery set. peterk -- Never trust a computer you can't throw out the window. - Steve Wozniak "Linda" wrote in message ... Is e-Acceleration the company that makes "Stop Sign"? If it's the same one,
just to let you know, they were pushing me to sell their product and they sent me a free sample. I didn't even have it installed -- just has the CD inserted in the drive -- and my spyware programs all started alerting. Maybe they've changed since then, but it's something you might want to look into before you actually install their product. If I was you, first thing I'd do is check for viruses and spyware. If you need a new Windows disk, order one from Dell. It will be a lit cheaper than buying one elsewhere. "Linda" wrote in message ... Which software exactly?
What did e-Acceleration base this on? Please note: Based on personal expeerience, eAcceleration software is full
of "spyware". I would steer clear of any eAcceleration software. Have you tried to download software from a different site??? "Linda" wrote in message ...
