You can install the Upgrade disc as a Clean install, by using the Double Install method. The key step is Step 5, using "Refresh Your PC" as a means to do the second install. "Refresh Your PC", installs files again, and counts as the second installation, with the files of the first installation counting as the "existing OS". http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials...8-upgrade.html The other method they mention, using the .bat file, uses "slmgr /rearm" and that didn't work for me. But doing it via Step 5, worked. Your mileage may vary. Paul |

The second point would be same as the first with the deletion of anything following the first 'this'. |

Having recently completed the process from Win 7 to Win8, and now back to the original Win7, your life will be significantly simplified by having he option to go back to the original. I gave Win8 about 5 months of trying it out before throwing in the towel. |

Castor, one of the problems I had with Win8 was restart. It would always hang up. Try this. When it hangs up hit the power button to go to a shut down. Maybe upon hitting the power button again it might continue onto the power up sequence. (Actually you probably have already done that just to keep going) Any reason you wanted/needed to install Win8?? |

Can you start the installation from the very beginning? You *should* be able to boot from the Windows 8 DVD and restart the installation. 2. When installing Windows (8 and older versions too), when Windows gets part way through the boot process and restarts, it is important *not* to boot from the DVD. -- Gene E. Bloch (Stumbling Bloch) |
