Windows OneCare told me its firewall is off but I can't turn it on
Today my Windows Live OneCare told me its firewall is off. It was on up until
then. I clicked the "Turn on" button but it told me I had to turn on the firewall but when I go to the Windows security center it will not let me do anything with the firewall settings. It says "For your security, some settings are controled by group policy". How do I fix this problem? Thanks, dbctl |

DBCTL,
Are you using XP Pro? Are you on a network or standalone? START | RUN | type GPEDIT & press ENTER Look in there for the said group policy if you have permission -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "dbctl" wrote in message ... You need to type "gpedit.msc" and not just "gpedit". If you are on Windows
XP Home Edition, you will not have the group policy editor. It is only available in Windows XP Professional. "Ken Blake, MVP" wrote in message ... If you are on Windows XP Home Edition, you will not have the group policy editor. It is only available in Windows XP Professional. That's exactly what I said below. No need to tell me that.
