Default JAVA upgrade totally jammed up

The JAVA upgrade is totally jammed up . will not install the
latest Version .cannot de-install any of the older versions
using the windows-add/remove. error applying transforms , verify
the specified transform paths are valid ( java has the same
problem with valid paths)

Tried the manual off line up-grade ,,,,,,, no good , same
error message , wrong path to install file and cannot remove
old version ..

Tried the downloadable fixes , supposed to remove ALL the
old versions ... no good , still the same problem

Java is working on the pc , but now the version is out of
date and things are starting , not, to use it

Q ..... how to remove JAVA manually ? is it possible , ?

The windows remove will not remove any of the listed
versions ....... assume all of these should not be on the pc
now ??

java auto updater
java (tm) 6 un 2
java (tm) 6 un 29
java (tm) 6 un 3
java (tm) 6 un 5
java (tm) SE runtime envio 6 update 1

Tnx -G.

There is a tool here for removing JRE (Java Runtime Environment) but
I don't know a thing about it. (That means I've never used it, don't
know it's AV status, don't know whether it even works.)
Source is also available, if you want to see what it
will be deleting or looking for. I hope you were referring
to JRE, in your question.

Now, if I was doing this, I'd back up the C: partition before
letting that thing go to work. Good luck. If you can't reboot
the computer later let's say, then you would rely on that
backup you made, to restore your computer to mint condition.
Backup tools with a "bare metal" restoration capability are
favored for this, as they come with a boot CD, and even if
the computer won't boot, the backup tool boot CD is what
gets you back in business again. (Boot the backup tool boot CD,
then restore from backup held on an external drive.)

Yes, the advice from Sun/Oracle is to use Add/Remove to remove
stuff like that. But if you haven't been "cleaning house"
properly over the years, there could be quite a mess in there.

The scan on JavaRa-1.16-16-12-11.zip is clean, and a file with
that checksum has already been scanned. Note that this doesn't
mean a thing, except that the file does not contain recognized
malware. The file obviously still has "delete" commands in it,
and we're taking on faith, that it will be deleting the right
things.

Ok Finally solvbed the problem, yes there where allsorts of
old java files etc , I found that the file name reported as
being on a network resource problem was mentioned in a few
posts , one made ref to the MS installer clean uptool by the
exe name , now defunked by MS , but , by chance I had a copy
on one of the pc's ......ran this and removed 'all' java
referances from the listing ..... did email sun-java , but
totally NO responce , only links to a pay as you go on line
scam ... charming as many things use java ..

ran the on line up-dater .... now all ok

Tnx -G..
