Default USB Device Not Recognized

Hello,

When I attach either my Digital camera or MP3 player to my computer I
get the "USB Device not recognized" error message. I then took the mp3
player to my laptop and plugged it in and it recognized it fine. Both
of the systems are windows XP Pro. Any clue why my first computer is
having a problem and how I can fix it without having to reinstall
windows?? I do have a USB Printer that is recognized without a problem.
Thanks for the help.

Did your camera or player come with any software or drivers that need to
be installed? You could try rt clicking
MyComputerselect PropertiesHardwareDevice ManagerUSB Controllers. Rt
click on each one and choose
uninstall. Restart and let XP reinstall them. Disconnect all the USB
devices first.

It did come with software but no drivers for XP. Others seem to have it
working fine with XP.
