Default mouse freeze

I am running xp home, sp1 and occasionaly my mouse freezes on startup. I
think it may be happening if the mouse is moved before the desktop items
load up. I have a ps/2 type mouse. Does anyone know a fix for this please.

Unless you have installed something lately that is causing a problem,
Your mouse COULD actually be going bad.
How long have you had it??? They are cheap, try another one!
