Operating swapping question followup

Just do it, clone the laptop hard drive to the desk top
drive, remove as much hardware as you can, fire it up ,
activate and hang on, it will find all the new stuff, work
through it one at a time.

for the XP license through COMPAQ. In other words,
Microsoft got something when I purchased my laptop, so if
my laptop is disabled (lets say my car runs over it), I

My laptop was an OEM purchase and my WIN 98 was also an
OEM purchase. I believe the answer I am getting is "NO
WAY!"
