Why can't I enable recording on BOTH my drives?
Just noticed a curious problem. I have two recordable optical drives - a
Pioneer DVD burner and a Samsung combi (DVD-ROM/CD burner). In the past I know that I have been able to enable recording on BOTH units simultaneously. Now, if I enable recording on one, it disables it on the other. All the articles I've found concerning this refer to Easy CD Creator, which I don't use - I use Nero 6 (and it's fully patched). Running Pro with SP2. Is there a way to force recording on *BOTH* units again? Thanks folks! P.S. Rest of specs (as if it makes a difference) FX-55 2GB PC3200 EEC registered RAM 2x75GB Raptors 1x300GB Caviar (all three are SATA and all three have plenty of space) The rest is probably irrelevant, but I'll include it anyway Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro 9800XT 256MB ASUS SK8V Any - and all - insight gratefully received. -- Facon - the artificial bacon bits you get in Pizza Hut for sprinkling on salads. |

PT
enable recording on BOTH units simultaneously In Nero 6 with the latest updates (Nero6.6603 dated 06/12/2004) all recordable drives are enabled as soon as Nero starts. You can then select which drive as the target recorder: you can chose which to use each time you open Nero Burning CD Rom. I am not sure I have fully understand what more than this you want. Surely you don't expect to WRITE simulataneously to two drives? |

I have a DVD burner and a CD burner and Nero sees both as burners without any problems. |

Do you mean by going into the drive's properties? You shouldn't be able to enable two burners at once--see Carey's link. You should be able to use Nero to write to both, however, and it's advised that you turn off (disable) the XP burning capability first. |

Why can't I enable recording on BOTH my drives?
Mis P T
Raymond is right, you should disable the Windows XP native CD burning software and then from Nero 6 you can choose which drive to use as I said in my first post. |
