Virtual Machine problem
I was trying to access a cellphone rooting website from Windows 10.
Normally not a problem but this time I got 'Cannot access' messages and the people I was in contact with claimed Windows believed my Internet link was unstable. It definitely isn't. The thing is that it is a virtual win-10 hosted on Linux via VMware. No proxy server and no firewall beyond the router. Is there any inherent reason that this configuration shouldn't work? -- Mageia 5.1 for x86_64, Kernel:4.4.114-desktop-1.mga5 KDE version 4.14.5 on an AMD Phenom II X4 Black edition. |

I have no trouble here, web surfing from Windows 10 as a Guest under VirtualBox. But of course, all it takes is one patch, of either VMWare, or the Windows 10 Guest, to break something. And it might not necessarily be all that easy to debug, as it might use TAP or TUN on the Host side. Can you have multiple of those running at the same time ? Think carefully about your network setup, and how much spaghetti is loaded that way (TAP/TUN VPN versus virtual machines...) Maybe Wireshark can pick that up, and you'll have to look at the list of network connections in the main window, to see. Paul |

Paul If all that was true, why are all other Internet activities from Win-10, including the unpredictable Windows updates working smoothly?
