Licence keys
I just took up the £24.99 offer, bought a licence key, downloaded and installed
Windows 8 on a seperate hard drive as a dual boot system. Despite misgivings - I like it. Had to reinstall some drivers (an old scanner etc); but basically it workewd out of the box. My question - can I buy extra keys for my laptop and a second machine, without having to download the iso every time? TIA... |

In the windows sub-folder there is the dvd image. |

Windows installer asked where I wanted to install; I chose a previously formatted internal hard drive, and that was that. I get offered the choice of windows 7 or 8 on boot - though I have to say, boot is taking a lot longer than it did/should...something to tinker with. |

I'm trying to establish whether I can use the same dvd to install on spare machines, buying a new license (not licence (sorry!)key each time. |

The dvd image should work on any machine, it isn't locked to any particular key. When you choose to buy a key, from what I can remember, as soon as your payment is accepted then your new key is displayed before the install options are displayed. So you just log off at that point. |

Yes, of course you're right - I'd forgotten the order things happen in. Thanks.. |

Licence keys
If you have the media, you don't need to download it again.
You have the option to just purchase a key. -- ....winston msft mvp mail "Peter Roe" wrote in message o.uk... Sorry, I wasn't clear: I've created a physical dvd iso from the win8 download, and used that to install my dual boot. I'm trying to establish whether I can use the same dvd to install on spare machines, buying a new license (not licence (sorry!)key each time. Yes I did that for 2 additional computers. I found this article MOST informative. http://www.winsupersite.com/article/...e-media-144648 Just buy more keys and do not do repeated downloads. One iso file is all that you need. FD |
