Default Classic (Shell)-Start Lives On with Release 4.4.109

Yep, for those who liked the Classic Shell Start Menu there is good news.

It seems that the project has been taken over by a different software
author known as passionate-coder now that the original author has
abandoned the project. The new author already has updated the program
to work on my Windows 10 Build 17692.rs_prelease.180609-1317.

I just installed it on my Preview Build and the program is once again
working as it did in the past. I don't know if it was needed but I
uninstalled the original program before installing the newest version.

The name has slightly changed to just Classic-Start, loosing the word Shell.

It is still early but it appears that passionate-coder is willing to
work with people who find a bug in the program.

I saw this info over at:
https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32...4-109-Released

You can go to: https://github.com/passionate-coder/Classic-Start where
the project appears to have moved to.

It is also available over at Majorgeeks at:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/deta...sic_start.html

So if you are like me and like to use this program there is still hope
for you.

Just FYI...

The same task-based WinXP menus:

Work just fine when copied over to Windows 10:

The task-based Cascade Menu is native to both Windows XP & to Win10:

Windows 10 has a *native* Cascade Menu which is almost exactly the same in
almost all ways as the WinXP Cascade Menu.

In fact, I copied my WinXP Cascade Menu over to Windows 10, and it
worked out of the box (with very minor tweaks due to honing of my
cascade menus over the decades).

The point of this post is simply to let users know that, while "Classic
Shell" does a *lot* more than just give the user a WinXP-style Cascade
Menu, if the only thing you want from Classic Shell freeware is the WinXP
style Cascade Menu, then Windows 10 already has that native.

I can confirm that the Classic Start 4.4.109 works on Build
17711.rs_prelease, too! I know that many want us to use the Win 10 start
menu, but for me, it just doesn't support my work flow.

Does the Windows 10 Cascade Menu support your work flow?
