Default Still getting Windows 10 update failed messages!

So, the GWUX app is gone now on my Windows 7, but I'm still seeing
messages that it tried to download Windows 10, and it failed after all
these weeks. Anybody else still seeing them?

All the stupid people here with a mental age of 7 and chronological age
of 82 are reporting this. So you are seeing this, right? Perhaps those
Pakistani terrorists should have dealt with you instead of killing that
innocent Lawyer and bombing others who went to the hospital.

Is this via Windows Update ?

As a test, I went through the GWX sequence on my
laptop, and it used the newer method, of throwing
a banner across Windows Update, announcing Win10 was
hiding in there. And one of the items in Windows Update
was a "3GB download" or so. And at the time, that might
have been 10586.420. One of the issues was, my laptop
video is ATI HD 4200, and drivers for that stopped just
before Win10 era. I did get Win10 running, but the colors
were washed out (too bright), and I couldn't adjust
things back to how they were in Windows 7 appearance-wise.
But the biggest kicker, was the battery life in Win10
was a lot less, because the processor was busy for
something like 12 hours, doing "maintenance".

Maybe if you use a Windows Update reset script,
it'll stop ? Because it would no longer have GWX to
put it back in that state. Try the sevenforums.com/tutorials
for a reset script.

The other thing you could try is the GWX stopper control
panel (third party), and use it to clean out any
labeled materials.

This is not a nice thing to say especially when you yourself aren't sure
about this. Otherwise you wouldn't have posted this because any
"insensitive prick" is not going to be affected by what you say!! Would he?

Yeah, it was via a Windows Update.

As a test, I went through the GWX sequence on my

I had problems on my laptop too, but it was for keyboard and touchpad
problems, rather than video drivers. A lot of the keyboard macros
designed to control the features of the laptop, like screen brightness,
sound volume, etc. stopped working in Win 10. I think that there was
some kind of Toshiba app that ran in the background that got killed by
Win 10, that controlled these things.

As for the touchpad, I couldn't get many features to work right, despite
trying every Synaptics driver for Win 10 on the planet. So I think when
it comes to laptops, I'm not going to bother to upgrade it.

However, my desktop is equally perplexing how I'm going to upgrade that
properly. The desktop can really benefit from the upgraded features of
Win 10, but because of my Users folder setup, it will fail at every
major update.
