Default Unsafe Attachments in Outlook Express on win XP

Hi,
I've just received an e-mail from a known source (ie a friend).
It contained an .eml attachment to which OE denies me access because it
could be "dangerous".
(I can't find any detailed reference to this settings option in "help".)
My questions a
1) Does this mean the attachment is definitely a virus?
2) If so, is the attachment quarantened by OE somewhere on my HD, and if so,
where? (so I can remove it...)
3) If it is only a safety precaution, what is the most sensible procedure?
(how can I check whether the attachment is safe? (using NAV for example).
Again, has it been downloaded & quarantened somewhere on my HD or is it
still on the server? Can I virus check it without downloading it?)

Thanks in advance, B

Default Unsafe Attachments in Outlook Express on win XP

Greetings --

Outlook Express (OE)'s new default security settings are simply
trying to protect you. OE has no way of telling whether an attachment
actually contains a virus or not, so it temporarily blocks any of
those file types that could potentially contain a virus. In Outlook
Express, Tools Options Security, uncheck the "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus"
option, assuming you trust the source, of course. The wiser course of
action, however, would be to modify your list of unsafe files, as
outlined in the KB articles below:
