Default Help with system restore please!

So after installing a windows update last week, I am suddenly having
problems with Outlook. It freezes as soon as I try to add an
attachment. I'm having problems with Excel as well. After doing some
research online, I decided that doing a system restore would be the way
to go. Well, for some reason, I only have a system checkpoint for
today and yesterday. There are no other checkpoints.

Is there any way for me to get back to the state I was in last week?
This is incredibly frustrating!

If I can't get my checkpoints back, are there any other suggestions to
help me with my problem with Outlook and Excel? TIA!

It may be a good idea to back up your system before attempting to
install updates.
