Default Lexmark X85 installation

I am trying to reinstall an X85 all in one USB printer
after a "trouble communicating with the printer" message.
The installation freezes the computer when I reinsert the
USB cable. I am running a Dell 4550 P4- 2.4 GHz with XP
Home. The printer will install on my P2-350. I have
followed all Lexmark instructions. Could my USB 2.0
drivers be corrupted and how would I get and install new
ones? I have the Service pack and all updates installed
from the update site. Any ideas

Is there a BIOS update for that machine available from Dell?
