Still locked out of gmail from client app
I'm still locked out of gmail from TBird. I really don't get it. So
today, I uninstalled TBird, downloaded a fresh TBird and, even though I erased all of my passwords in TBird, it never askes for a password. Weird! I was going to enable OAuth2 but, as I said, it never askes for a password or key. Any ideas? |

Did you delete your old profile and start fresh? As others have said, uninstalling TB leaves profile(s) behind, start it with thunderbird.exe -p if you want to delete profiles, or create a blank one and set it as default. |

Any boo-boos in that will remain. See my response to Alex's question for a fix to your problem. If that does not work, you can always start Thunderbird's profile manager with "Thunderbird -P" and create a new profile and see it that works. Don't do this if you are not using imap. Thunderbird should automatically use OAuth2 and create new tokens for you in the new profile -T |

Let us know what happens. Two weeks ago, I had a user with a profile with three eMail accounts in it. Whenever she sent an email from the first account, a copy would show up in the first account's sent bin (as it should) and the second account's sent bin as well. I thought the eMail service was doing it. Removing and reinstall the first account fixed it. |

I installed it, but it wouldn't ask for a password on a gmail account. Could google be blocking on the basis of IP address? |

It could be that you just don't know how to setup Thunderbird correctly and allow it to setup access to gmail automatically. Have you heard of YouTube where users like yours truly upload videos for people like you. I suggest go to the Youtube's main page or even click on this link to find useful basic videos: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=setup+email+in+thunderbird After watching a couple of them, you can come back here and thank youtube website and in particular Google for creating such a wonderful website!! -- With over 1.2 billion devices now running Windows 10, customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows. |
