Serious performance problem --- Not 811493
For the last week I have had an intermittent serious performance issue. After a reboot everything is fine until the next morning. Then the system process is taking 40-50% of CPU and all other tasks are very slow. I have a small set of nightly jobs scheduled, I have traced the problem to a backup job I do from a win 98 machine on my LAN. It is a very small backup, about 70meg, of the virtual drive my kids keep their homework on. If I cancel this job, the system process does not run amok. I can run the job manually with no problem. I have been running the job nightly for many months with no problems. Any idea how I can diagnose this problem? Thanks in advance, ah -- Andrew Hall (Now reading Usenet in microsoft.public.windowsxp.perform_maintain...) |
