BETTY: Right click the taskbar and pull up Task Manager.
This will tell you what is eating all your Cheerios. If you don't find it go to RUNmsconfigsystem startup. Deselect all. Now restart,you will be qued to leave system in selective recovery click do not show again STAY off the net while you do this. Now run a prog that has been giving you trouble. If it runs to 100% remove the prog. Now,go back in MSCONFIG and select your antivirus program to start on startup. Be EXTREMLY careful while in MSCONFIG. You can damage your system to point of System Restore. GOOD LUCK -----Original Message----- I have this executable that comes up at startup and sets the cpu at about 100%. I am having trouble identifying what this executable is for and why it's eating all my cpu cycles. Is it a virus? . |
