Computer graphics card meltdown.
A problem just occurred when apparently the graphics card stopped working. I
have P41.4 running up to date WinXP home. I sent error reporting and MS sent driver information that NVidia Corp had no known explanation for this problem. They suggested I update my driver through microsoft, I did and now the display (Samtron76V) looks terrible, even when I try and change all the settings. I then went to NVida and downloaded the suggested driver that was the option from MS but not approved ???? The situation is better except when my son tried to play WarCraft 3, the screen flickers and flashes in little spots all over. The computer also freezes after a short inactive time when the screen saver is running. I haven't had any problems with this set-up before it happened. Any suggestions |

How much RAM is in your system?
Visit manufacturer's website and download and install the latest driver. regards, ssg MS-MVP Randy161 wrote: A problem just occurred when apparently the graphics card stopped working. Any suggestions Have you checked the temperatures of the video card itself when it is having problems? Maybe the fan on it quit working and the card is getting too hot. If it is fine you might also want to look at the power supply voltages when these problems occur to see if it can support the load. |

you should really update the driver from the specific manufacturer of the
hardware in question (ie Nvidia). "Randy161" wrote in message ... A problem just occurred when apparently the graphics card stopped working. I have P41.4 running up to date WinXP home. Not approved???
Not necessarily - the message you get when you install the device driver is just telling you that MS hasn't tested the hardware and/ordriver in XP (in their test environment). It probably will work, but MS just telling you there *may be* (a slight chance) there could be problems. It's more a "Install at your own risk and don't blame us if your system f***s up. Don't say we didn't warn you!" kind of warning. "S.Sengupta" wrote in message ... How much RAM is in your system?
