Default Location "home-made-icons"?

My wife made quite a lot of icons and uses them in WLM 8.5.
The receiver of these icons can select them and store them for future use.
But where are those icons stored? I've tried to find them on my HDD, but
didn't succeed....

Default Location "home-made-icons"?

Greetings,

They are stored at the following location;
On XP:
\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Messenger\LiveID\ObjectStore\Custom Emoticons

and on Vista:
\Users\username\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\ LiveID\ObjectStore\CustomEmoticons

Where username is your Windows username and LiveID is your Windows Live ID e-mail address.

Additionally, some of these folders will be hidden by default, to see them simply press the
Alt key on the keyboard in any Windows Explorer window to bring up the toolbar, click Tools,
then Folder Options, then the View tab, and then choose 'Show hidden files and folders'.
After click OK, they should appear with the other folders.

Within the folder you'll see .id2 and .dt2 files. The .id2 is the information on how to load
the emoticon (the key combination, name, etc.) and the .dt2 file is the actual image. For
quick browsing, you can pop up an Internet Explorer window and just drag .dt2 files into the
IE window to see the image.
