Error 1500 stops Messenger install
When I download WINXP Messenger and start the installation process, it stops
with a Error 1500: Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one. I'm not installing anything else. I rebooted my computer and still received the same message. Any other ideas on how to install this product? Thanks, Mike Stanley |

Error 1500 stops Messenger install
Greetings Mike,
Assuming you're familiar with editing the registry, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Installer\InProgress within the registry and delete the InProgress key. Then do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations. Then if at least one of these existed and you've now removed, give it a shot again. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Mike" wrote in message ... Error 1500 stops Messenger install
Jonathan Kay,
I didn't have either of those folders or values present on my registry. Is there anything else that I could try?
