Default Communicating with Netmeeting

My father has Windows 2000 and uses netmeeting. I have Windows XP. I have
never been able to send him invites from MSN Messenger and have always
required him to send me an invite. When he does, Netmeeting automatically
opens up on my computer and "overides" my MSN messenger window. To date this
has worked for us. However we both recently downloaded new versions of
Netmeeting/MSN Messnger and now when he sends me an invite we are told that I
do not have Netmeeting installed. However I can open netmeeting (ver 3.01).
Should I have Netmeeting installed at all? If not how do I uninstall this?

If I should have netmeeting, any ideas on why I cannot connect up with my
father?

Regards
