PDFs are an abbreviation not an acronym. They are the culmination of
technilogical marvelousness. Thus you can re-gift them for your Xmas
holiday Secret-Santa parties and nobody will ever know. Unlike jock
straps, they usually don't have pudding-fart tracks. HTH.

It's an acronym: Portable Document Format.

Sheesh.

It's also a file format. It's both.

Stop, please, offering incorrect information.

An "acronym" is an abbreviation which can be pronounced like a word; e.g.,
"FEMA" or "MADD" or "DOODIE-PANTS".

An abbreviation is the term for labels which cannot be pronounced like a
word; e.g., "FBI" or "DoD" or "PDF" or yer mama.

Quite accurate information, except the wrong way round.

Windows *does not have a display*! Screen resolution, color depth and
other factors are, and have always been dependent on the graphics card
and monitor that one has, and that varies quite broadly with
Windows-based systems. There have always been Windows-based options that
have higher resolution and color depth than anything Apple has ever
offered. Most people don't need them, and wouldn't pay the premium for
them, but they do exist.

Then I'll say it in a cruder manner... Best damn picture I've ever

That *is* better, since it limits things to your experience. ;-)

Not if it has form fields. Perhaps you need a more flexible pdf
reader.

That's my point. The standard Adobe Reader, which is what Jo
Public has, doesn't let you edit most of them.

Wrong. I use free Adobe Reader DC. Form fill is there easily.

You're not Jo Public, I've never even heard of "DC". I assume it's a

Redneck is an acronym for "awesomeness." PDF is an abbreviation. Some
might call it an "initialism;" however, that term is not currently
recognized by reputable lexiconists of the English languages (US, AUS, NZ,
UK, Alabama and Negro). Maybe later, but in any case, "PDF" is NOT an
acronym... but maybe you could buy a vowel from Vanna White and try again.

Adobe forms fillable with farts is my Xmas idea. I am copyrighting it.

Give me a list of your addresses so I can send you some special olafactory
Xmas greeting.

BTW (NOT an acronym): "Iowa" is NOT a name because it is an acronym. It
stands for "Idiots Out Wandering Around".

HTH.

It's the free thing you get when you click "get acrobat reader" on
a website which has a pdf to download.

So you're saying that it is not distributed with Windows?

WTF has that to do with anything? My point is it's the one most
people have. Only computer minded people get alternates.

But if they clicked that link, wouldn't they get the latest Acrobat
Reader???

Well I don't much like Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Look at this, I'm about
to print February and March calendars in poster form.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/27nw4zis7l....jpg?dl=0&s=sl

Looks fine on the preview doesn't it? But guess what, it comes out on
THREE pages per month. Thanks Adobe for wasting my time and paper. Now
I've got to randomly fiddle with the sizing until it gets it right. I
may just go back to using printscreen and a photo editor to print it. I
would have thought by version 15 Adobe could have mastered printing....

The "shrink to scale" appears to be a function of the
printer driver. My printer driver in this photo has it.
It is the "Fit" button.

http://s15.postimg.org/qi8h37xiz/print_to_fit.jpg

The "Advanced" button at the top also hides stuff,
but I'd probably try a control in the main window
if I could find it.

So what you're saying is you have to use your printer driver to fix Adobe's output, which is giving it slightly more than A4.

Could we back up a bit? What do you mean by "Adobe's output", the
calendar file?

How was this PDF file created?

Thanks.
