Default I don't get it, how to controll messenger

Hi,

Win Xp here and Windows Messenger!
How comes that, somethimes when I start Outlook Express, Win Messenger
starts automaticly, and sometimes, it just doesn't show up.
I want to controll it myself, I don't want it to start up automaticly!

I did many searches on Google, tryed a lot of tips (from the windows site),
but still, mostly it just starts and automaticly logs on, when I don't want
that.

How can I ever stop that program to live it's own way?

Pat.
