Default hackers in hotmail and MSN messenger

Hello every one, I had this problem one day. I come home from work, and I
couldn't get into MSN messenger. Said either the wrong password, or the
service is down. So I opened OUTLOOK Express to collect my mail.....a box
came up and keep asking my for my password. So I went to hotmail.com, and
when I tried to log in my account, it said "to many tries with the wrong
password to get into this account" so I rested my password and everything
was fine. Later on that night, my MSN told me while I was online that "I'm
offline because I signed in at another location", this hacker had taken over
my account. I couldn't get into hotmail or MSN, so I had to keep resetting
my password, and he kept knocking me offline taking over my account, also he
was going after my contacts accounts. Seems that once he knows your e-mail
address, he can get your password, I wanted to know is there some kind of
way I can protect my self from something like this or find out how this
person is?

You could log into your account through the hotmail website(does your
username/password work??), and then change your password to your account,
try changing to include mixed normal characters & Capital letters so it
will be difficult to know the password.

My friend lent it to me actually, he had it on a burnt CD......so I dont
know if he copied it or cracked it. I saw a free verson on the Site (zone
alarm), but he told me he would lend me this one, so I really dont know if
this is a crack one?

It's it's a crack one, it dont work well?

It was the Full Retail version, because I upgraded it to a newer version.
