Default Lan setup advise using Linksys

In the past I had my 2 computers setup by using the BEFSR41 4 port router.I
had both computers connected to 2 ports and also one port connected to my
WAP11 wireless to be used with my laptop that is wireless and are in the
same workgroup lan which work ok till my BEFSR41 became defective. Now I
replaced it with a WRT54G wireless that also has 4 ports and is connected
the same way I had BEFSR41. All linksys and 2 computers except laptop are in
the same room due to the way I have my connections setup.

What I want to do is move my WAP11 into another room and just used wireless
connection between WRT54G and WAP11 to my laptop all in the same
workgroup.
Can it be done and what do I need to change in my setup internal for
WRT54G
and WAP11. I haven't tried anything yet till I find out for sure it can be
done and with some advise.

Terry

Unless something has changed, the WAP 11 won't communicate with the
WRT54G wirelessly. They will accept connections with clients in AP mode or
another WAP 11 in Bridge mode. The proper way to do what you want is to
connect it to the WRT54G with a cat5 cable or use the WRT54G as an AP for
your wireless clients to connect to. That is what I'd do. You don't need
the WAP 11 unless you want to extend the distance of the wireless link. The
drawback is that if your client is a 802.11b client the whole network will
slow to that speed. You can get more help in the newsgroup
