Is there an easier way to rebuild Outlook Express Identities after anO/S reinstall?
Currently the way I'm doing it is by backing up the identities folder
and noting which specific subfolder contains which id's, then one by one recreating each identity through OE, pop settings this, smtp settings that - then as each new folder appears, get the .dbx files from the old one and copy paste into place, again noting which ID is which. Repeat. Is there a less cumbersome, quicker way to accomplish this? Thanks. |

That is referring to a different program. Outlook Express Quick Backup (OEQB): http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010 Imperial Beach, CA |

Outlook Express Quick Backup (OEQB):http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx Thanks! You're welcome. BT-DT many times. When you install OEQB, you will be told to create a Windows folder to be used for the backup. I kept mine in My Documents as I backed that up externally often. Should you need to reformat XP, install OEQB on the new installation, and copy this folder to the HDD as well. In OEQB, associate the folder and a restore will make OE look just like you left it. Rules. Toolbar settings. You name it, and for multiple identities all at once. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010 Imperial Beach, CA |
