Generic IEEE 1284.4 Printing Support Problem
When I go into Device Manager, there is a yellow question
mark next to "Generic IEEE 1284.4 Printing Support". When I try to update the driver, the Hardware Update Wizard cannot find the file it needs. How do I resolve this? Thanks in advance. |

Steve in CT: Did you get an answer to this problem ?
I have the same problem and have not been able to solve it. Where do you find the IEEE 1284.4 driver ? I have searched the web extensively to no avail. Thanks Notme ----------------------------------- Quote:

How do I resolve this? How? Easily! :-) Unplug your Hewlett-Packard printer from your computer's USB port. Take the Hewlett-Packard CD-ROM that came with your printer, and re-install the Hewlett-Packet software drivers for your printer. When the Hewlett-Packard installation software tells you to reconnect the printer, reconnect the printer. Print a test page. If you don't have the drivers, try http://www.hp.com/support From that site, you can either download the drivers, or you can place an online order for the drivers to be shipped (UPS ground) to you. -- ikke |
