"Windows 10 Gains In the Enterprise But Windows 7 Is Still The Top Dog"

https://www.petri.com/windows-10-gai...-still-top-dog

"This week, Windows 10 will turn two years old and while the general
sentiment is that this OS will eventually take over Windows 7 market
share, there is still a long road to climb. For Microsoft, it is
critical that they entice companies to move to Windows 10 as it opens up
new revenue streams and avoids the issue of having an unsupported OS
being widely used after it reaches end of life."

Time moves on but I don't know if we will ever go to Windows 10.

Recently bought this new laptop, has 10 on it, and I'm VERY happy
with it.

Have an older laptop with 7 on it, because there are NO good drivers
that match the 7 resolution when using 10. So it WILL stay on 7.

In that case you'll have to start using Linux or some call it LinJunk.
10 is here and people have to get used to it if they want to continue
living in the civilised world. The alternative is no better. Constant
bombings and no peace. Talibans and IS are trying but they don't seem
to succeed.

x = 1024 = 0.50 * 2^11
x = 2048 = 0.50 * 2^12
x = 4096 = 0.50 * 2^13

Not sure about that, the recent attacks on UK-NHS computers showed
many XP systems still in use!

There was a time when I would have agreed with you, like when 2000 and
XP were available and a few people were sticking with 98/98SE. This
isn't at all a similar situation.

My employer just bought me a new laptop that came with Win 10. I had to
power it up for inventory purposes, but other than that it's been off. I
have absolutely no plans to use it for work.

I've gone as far as checking to see whether Win 7/8 drivers are
available for it, and they are, so someday I might image the drive and
upgrade it to Win 7, but for now it's just resting quietly.

Where I work we have no choice, the next generation of laptops we will
get will come with Kaby Lake, which is not supported by MS for Win7.
We're being forced to move to 10...

They are examining different options like this. For instance I know some
like the idea of BYOD along with Windows-2-go on a key. But I can hardly
see a developer using a Chromebook to code stuff for our clients...
