Default pointer disappears after standby

When my computer enters standby mode and is restored, the
pointer is not visable. The computer must be restarted to
restore the pointer. How do I fix this?

Open your Device Manager and right-click on your mouse.
Click on the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer
to turn off this device to save power". Place a checkmark next to
"Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". Afterward,
click "OK".

Repeat this procedure for your keyboard.
