Default PS/2 mouse performance help

Hi. I can remember that when I used to use a PS/2 mouse,
I had found a website somewhere that told you of one sort
of solution. PS/2 just will never be as good as USB,
but, it seems that the computer checks for data from it a
certain number of times per second (which I belive is
60Hz by default) and you could safely raise that number
somewhat. I think you could even set it as high as
120Hz. Presumably that would require a bit more
horsepower to do, so back when I first saw that it was
more of an issue, but, on a semi-modern pc, it should
only be a question of whether or not that is good for the
PS/2 and/or the PS/2 device. Unfortunately, I can't
remember where I saw that, but I do remember it was a
registry hack, so you may try winguides.com first. I
wish you luck, especially since I may be downgrading my
USB mouse to PS/2 soon )-:
