File and Printer Sharing
I have a desktop computer running XP Home SP1, and connect to the
Internet via a cable modem. I went to Control Panel, clicked on the Network Connections icon, right-clicked on my LAN connection, and noticed that File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks was enabled. That seems like a minor security breach because I don't plan to share my printer or files with any other computer. Would it be a good idea to disable this feature? |

It would be an excellent idea to disable F&P sharing in this instance. While you're at it, since you only have a single machine, make sure ICF is enabled as well. -- Walter Clayton - MS MVP(WinXP) Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced. http://www.dts-l.org "HistoryFan" wrote in message ...
