Volume Control
All of a sudden my volume control has disappeared from
the taskbar, and none of the Windows sounds, including the startup sound, will play. Audio programs such as WMP and RealPlayer are fine. I can't find anything wrong in the Sounds settings of the Control Panel. The 'Show Volume Control' box is ticked. My HDD (which has been replaced since) was showing signs of trouble, so it may be a damaged file, but I want to avoid a reinstall of XP if possible, as I don't want to lose my settings, and this mightn't be the problem anyway. Any suggestions please? Spydah |

Volume Control
Thanks. I tried the regedit, but all was OK. Had a look
at kellys-korner, but it looks a bit scary. Maybe I'll have to face up to a Windows reinstall. Rgds Spydah -----Original Message----- Go to this site and see if it helps: http://www.kellys- korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm Go down to where did my sounds go line. . |
