Glad to know i'm not the only one! I got a Sandisk Sansa too, only mine is a
Sansa Clip. A little red one. And i'm having the same exact problems you are.
WILL NOT WORK! i've tried everything in the device manager. Uninstalled the
driver, and reinstalled it. Went through the troubleshooting thing. I emailed
the company, they never wrote me back. I've tried everything i can think of.
I gave it to my friends to see if it worked on their PC's, and it DID! I'm at
my wit's end with this thing. That's what led me here, thinking i have
something wrong with my Windows XP. Did you ever find out what the problem
was? Please email me! Or if there's anybody out there that can help me, also
please email me! Thank you!

I found a solution to my Sansa Clip disk.

Put it in "hold" (lateral button) and press its center button. Then,
plug into your usb. Windows xp will recognize it as mass storage
device.

Very strange, but it works!!!!

By over snipping, everything of value has been lost.

Please restate your problem with all that's been tried and repost.
