Standby
When I put my pc in standy mode, the os works properly and goes into standby,
and the monitor will turn off like it is supposed to do. However, my fans will still run, which is something I have not seen with other pc's that I have worked with. Both fans are going direclty to the board, is it some setting in my BIOS maybe? Just wanted to know if this was supposed to be happening. Thanks. |

My Dell 9100 came with S1 by default and the fans stay on because the power reduction is almost zero in that state. After switching to S3, the fans went off and the power consumption dropped to 2W.
