Default formatting the HD...

I have installed a vista beta version on my computer that i was running xp
home with.., now i want to get rid of that beta version and start out with a
fresh copy of windows xp, how would i go about this???

Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if necessary to
accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean installation (delete the
existing partition by pressing "D" when prompted, then create a new one).

Default formatting the HD...

Try a Clean install of XP:
