In XP Home Edition, you would have to start the computer in Safe mode to

i'm xp pro ntfs
right-click folder gives me "sharing & security" option then i have tabs "general" "sharing" "web sharing" "customize" none of these provides me with options for setting ntfs security on files/folders "Ramesh" wrote in message ... You have to disable Simple File sharing. ToolsFolder OptionsView uncheck
