HELP NEEDED FAST!!! HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP FAST HELP NEEDED
I have accidentally visited a porn site that I immediately left but it
somehow downloaded some stuff and it has left some stuff on my screen that I can't get rid of. ANYBODY can see it, who uses this computer, urgently I need to move it FAST!!! What is it and how can I move it. It is totally not my fault, I did not visit any porn site knowingly. I am totally innocent and would be grateful for any immediate and fast advice. It has about three pictures of naked ladies and if you click on them it goes to some kind of site, but they keep popping back up if I try to delete them.......... HELP HELP HELP EHLP |

Don't panic Jonathan! s
These sites usually load a BHO (Browser Helper Object) which is not permanently installed on your computer but is loaded in the memory. You only need to shutdown your browser. There are two quick ways to do this; 1. Quick and easy is to just use the "alt & f4 keys" This will close all browser activity . 2. Under XP or Win2k, use the task manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc will bring it up) and terminate any of the brower windows. This will kill them all at the same time. Faster than rebooting. -- Rodger_B.......... from a land down under - Sydney, Australia. Jonathon, these sites usually use BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) to keep
loading web pages using your Internet Browser. Normally closing your browser should get rid of it because it is mostly just loaded in memory. If closing your browser, and even rebooting, does not get rid of it then it HAS been installed on your computer and you need malware/spyware software to get rid of it. A good BHO detection and removal tool is BHO Demon. You can download a trial copy here; http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm -- Rodger_B.......... from a land down under - Sydney, Australia. Jonathan wrote: "Rodger_B" wrote in message ... Your manager probably isn't the total moron you make her out to be. Porn sites pop up continually and she knows that. Many legimate websites are discontinued and the domain name taken over by porn referral sites.... .. |

It is totally not my fault, ..... How do you figure that? Was someone else operating the mouse? When visiting porn sites, always be careful not to download/install their "free" viewers. You'll get more than expected, every time. To repair the current situation, uninstall the "viewer(s)" provided and then use Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search and Destroy from www.safer-networking.org/ to clean up any residue. Both have free versions for personal use. You should also try using MSConfig to see if something is being started each time you reboot. How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;310560 Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the system registry, primarily in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. Additionally, manual removal instructions for the most common varieties of scumware are available he PC Hell Spyware and Adware Removal Help http://www.pchell.com/support/spyware.shtml More information and assistance is available at these sites: Blocking Ads, Parasites, and Hijackers with a Hosts File http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once. - RAH |
